same difference

upsaid started charging for blogspace so i moved here. luckily i managed to hang on to my template. long live software piracy. i'll put up a sidebar link to my upsaid archives [which i also yoinked] some other time.

oops there goes gravity

online enrollment sucks. what's the point of getting the best sched if nobody else did? but i'm doublethinking whether i should still change sections since the ones i don't share with my friends are minor subjects. plus the fact that i'll be damned if i have even one 8am class this term.

it has come to my attention that the movement to end violence against women is referred to as v-day. very apt, to say the least.

another unfortunate occurrence is the resurfacing of a particular hanford ad, this time on the alabang skyline. this one has some guy playing soccer in his briefs. no logic at all, if you ask me. strange how the worst print ads are all found on the south superhighway*.

south superhighway: from north to south, sunjoy's subathing fatass, tena adult diapers' pissed-off grandparent, grepalife insurance's kidzilla, and now hanford's suicidal soccer player.

back to reality

again with the subtopics. owel. this time i'll add a quote or two and a soundtrack to each, for variety's sake.

i. "hello baduy!"

to hell with incubus. kimber's bash was a blast, from the food to the company to the videoke [two 100's!]. i did have some trouble convincing my parents to let me go, since i'd obviously be drinking and the call time for the field trip was 5am the next morning. good thing i never take no for an answer.

"pare, sabi ni brandon boyd, baduy mo!"
"sampalin mo nga ako, lace. 'yung malakas ha?"

soundtrack: careless whisper

ii. alpha q

i managed to pay off my sleep debt on the bus going to bauan so i wasn't that wasted during the day's activities. the trek i considered a big waste of time but the snorkeling was a lot of fun, albeit paralyzingly cold. i'd have another go at it, but only if i can get in for free. the best part was either the inuman saturday night, the 'movie marathon' sunday morning, or the lunch care of bj afterwards.

"anong 'board shorts'? pekpek shorts kaya 'yan."
"nakita mo ba si nemo?"
"grabe, left out nanaman ako."
"malaki ang chance mo."

soundtrack: ako'y sa 'yo, ika'y akin

iii. gin-tu

this is probably the tipsiest i've gotten since lacey's debut. at least i've confirmed that my volume is directly proportional to my alcohol intake.

"ano 'yan? yosi!? ba't ka nagyoyosi!?"
"hindi ako lasing! sobrang lakas lang talaga ng tama ko."
"religion parang santa claus lang 'yan!"

soundtrack: emvin snoring

iv. swordfish

they showed the film during the return trip. good thing i was well-rested enough to watch it properly. it was really good in an ocean's eleven kind of way, except that gabriel [john travolta] can and will kick your ass. halle berry's boobs weren't bad either. gratuitous, but not bad.

"just a thought."
"the key word is 'misdirection'."

soundtrack: swordfish ost

well i did warn you i'd be busy

just finished coding the last of the jbank classes [not including the gui itself]. but i have a feeling i still have a lot of bugs i need to work out. i wouldn't know - i haven't run the program even once. owel.

in the meantime, a lot has happened to me [as to be expected] so i might as well type out what i can remember:

i. pedance

we're learning the cha-cha-cha. the steps by themselves aren't complicated at all, but a screw up is a screw up. the good news is that i'm doing ok and my partner is at the very least a competent dancer. the bad news is that practicals are next meeting.

ii. simtower

i had invited frytz and bj over last friday to start work on the simtower. obviously nothing of the sort happened. i had fun though so i guess that makes up for it, although the worry's starting to kick in.

iii. san'to?

bunny's mag finally pushed through. yey. hopefully my article won't look that bad beside the others.

iv. objectp deptest

i got a 76 over 100. that's bad, but considering that all but ten of my mistakes were from the terminology-heavy multiple choice portion, i'm not feeling down. as long as i've got the concept down pat, i'll be fine.

iv. biocom2

ms evasco, in some lame attempt to 'humiliate' me, asked me to share with the class what i had been talking to frytz about. given my volume, they probably already knew anyway, but to humor her, i repeated what i had stated about the mating habits of anglerfish, a topic which wasn't that distant from the current lesson. take that, bitch.

v. door 59

soyster mentioned that my prose style is like f. h. batacan's. i dunno about that but she's a great read, if you have the time.

vi. physical exam

it wasn't as bad as they'd made it out to be, nor as embarassing, i have to admit. i'm beginning to think there never was a voice exam.*

vii. email

it seems ms limoanco's grammatical errors worsen online. and i quote:

"In the end, you have 3 choices : (a) work with a group; (b) do the project on your own; (c) will not do the project. Kindly inform me WITHIN THE WEEK. I can not simply put you into any group because, for MP2, any student is free to choice who she/he wants to work with."

that's it i guess. i'll probably update after a week or so. such, it turns out, is the life of a ccs student.

"java is easiest than c"

ms limoanco's at it again. too bad it isn't as funny anymore. the jbank is due sometime during the last week of march, the objectp mp on the first of april, and the dasalgo mp on the fourth. we have a quiz in anmath this friday, and the bio field trip is next weekend. i'm currently in g301 trying to learn java [yes it's past midterms and i still don't have any idea how object-oriented programming works]. with luck i'll be able to finish the jbank before kimber's bash next friday. forgive me if i'll be busy for the duration of this month. but chances are you'll be, too.
