"amazing the youth today, right?"

jonat and josh dragged me off to the ateneo yesterday morning, bribing me with free lunch. between then and now a number of "blogworthy" [as jonat put it] events have taken place, of which those i can remember will be narrated in chronological order:

i. choknut ice cream

i bought p25 worth of load at the 7-11 and they gave me free ice cream. cool. and not half-bad either.

ii. sit-in

psychology was a lot of fun since there was no lesson, just a short quiz and a game. if i had taken the quiz i would've gotten a 7 over 10. if that's any indication then genpsyc will be a breeze. since the quiz was relatively difficult, the game was for plus points: if you drew a pink square of paper, you had to answer a psychology-related question; if white, then a trivia question; and if yellow, you had to sing and|or dance out the answer. plus i got to see esmas* in action. jonat had some kind of computer subject afterward about databasing. that was boring but i got to check out their long test in excel programming so i guess i broke even.

iii. generation xy

we went to mr kabab [on quezon avenue, if you're interested] and just sat down and talked. they say that if you don't see a college friend for a couple of years, it's hard to think where to begin but if it were a high school friend, you just pick up where you left off. in related news, i for one like being part of generation xy - just the right balance of liberality and conservatism. plus i can remember when opm was still *original* pilipino music. mtv's rock the vote ads feature a lot of songs by the eraserheads. could they be hinting at a reunion set at the concert? improbable but not impossible.

iv. reckless driving

a bus cut us off somewhere along edsa. i was amused to notice that the last two digits of the phone numbers to call if the driver was being reckless had been sandpapered out.

v. powerbooks

since i had a couple of hours to kill before my tutoring session, i dropped by the g3 powerbooks to finish off books ix and x of the sandman. i was halfway to salcedo before i discovered that an extremely large announcement tag had become stuck on the back of my shirt from when i was leaning against the bookshelf. apparantly this is the other reason why you have to remain standing while reading through a book [aside from not causing a traffic jam in the aisle].

vi. random weirdness

there are two trees in salcedo park [on toledo corner lp leviste] that share a branch. rather strange considering that the trees are at least three meters apart and one is flowering while the other is not [i'm assuming that a single tree would flower uniformly]. in addition, i now have tanlines on my feet from wearing sandals all the time. and i suppose it would interest you to know [if you're from gox] that sanam and i were classmates [seatmates, no less] in kindergarten and even partners in some school program. i *had* pictures, but she took them. small world, eh?

that's it as far as i know. i'm sure jonat will comment if i've missed anything.

esmas: the atenean equivalent of zoltan, but with a spine. quite the loudmouth as well. my newest theorem is that dlsu and admu always have parallels when it comes to negative publicity [take for example pbeautista versus caffeinerush].
