i've just noticed that this is my third recent post with a title containing two contextually similar words related by an intersection. owel.
i. finals
worst case, i need an 80% and 60% grade percentage in the anmath and asmprog finals, respectively. improbable but not impossible. my luck's held so far; a few more days isn't asking for much.
ii. rockology 107
i was taking the asmprog deptest during the pinikpikan set so i only caught the last song. this turned out to be a good thing since by the time i got there, malate people plus a few others were whooping it up on the grass. had i arrived earlier, i'd have probably been dragged in along with them.
i actually was, sometime later, during the rivermaya set. whatever. it's not like they're "my favorite band" [which i state here in lieu of "any good"]. but i guess it was worth it to witness kimber's laglagan adventure.
oh and rico blanco, in true lead singer fashion, has finally gone off his rocker. 214 fireworks wtf!?
iii. reinkarnasyon ng salita
"sapagkat tayo'y inaari ng mga salita."
damn straight. unfortunately they focused on ethnic poetry this time so i didn't understand most of the presentations. i did enjoy ronald tupus' aso though. i was going to link to it but i couldn't find it online. go figure.
the intermission number was some guy who played the tuck and patty version of man in the mirror on a nylon-string electric classical guitar. ah yes, envy on so many levels.
mhs' set was interesting due to raven's prowess on his renz-type red seven-string rj guitar, mayonnaise's due to monty's intriguing riff patterns, and silent sanctuary's due to norman's bamboo- and medwin-like gesticulations, as well as due to this. [or rather, as near to it as i could find online] they definitely sound better live though.
of course the best part was the free food served afterwards. pity the fool who left early. it's getting late so i'll leave you with some quotable quotes from the diyosa herself:
"s'ya lang ang flordeliza ng buhay ko."
"diba caucasian ka? kasi kami ni renz, mongoloid."
"kung sumayaw ka, aaminin ko talaga sa kanya na gusto ko s'ya."
