"the brain is plastic"
god, introso is so boring. i got my quiz results back. 25 over 40. one point below 60%. argh. well, actually i don't really care, since the subject is [i repeat] so boring. we had another sle ["self-learning exercise", i think] yesterday. i cheated to get a perfect score, since ms whats-her-face gives extra credit for them. i didn't think it was a big deal, but it turned out that only four of us got a 10. now i feel dirty. argh².
genpsyc is so far the best course i've had. it's so much fun that the grading system based solely on attendance and two reaction papers isn't even the point anymore. it just feels so fulfilling to learn things you can and will use in real life.
playing the bass isn't as horrendous as i had thought. although i tire twice as fast now, the riffs are easier and aren't drowned out, which was my primary disappointment while i was rhythm guitarist. i don't plan on going professional though. nylon-string acoustic guitars still bring me the most satisfaction.
i ate dinner with kimber and rogi. that made me an hour late for my tutoring. the rule of thumb with her is that if you plan to be home by 8, say you'll be home by 10 and start while the sun's still up.
i almost died this morning. i only looked right while crossing the west service road. excuse me if i don't anticipate overtaking jeepneys. luckily the driver managed to brake in time. a similar incident happened yesterday, with renz almost getting run over by a truck. it reminds me of a passage i recently read about what confucius had to say about one of his "wild" disciples: "zilu will never die a natural death."
the uaap finals are in a few hours. i hope the archers win, although i highly doubt it. in the unlikely event that they do win, and in the even more unlikely event that classes are suspended tomorrow, at least i'll have time to do my introse case study and perhaps even study for the comorga deptest, which will then be moved to monday. otherwise i'll have to forego malate night [as i see it] at cara's. and i was looking forward to sampling more exotic brews, too.
the angelus was just broadcast*. i like how they translate "the word became flesh" as "
ang verbo ay nagkatawang-tao". we really should recognize that god isn't an object; he's an action.

broadcast: the past tense of "cast" is still "cast", as opposed to "casted", which most people assume to be correct. ergo, the past tense of "broadcast" should still be "broadcast". but then again, this is the english language we're talking about.
what do you think?
