"i have memory of this!"
kimber invited me to go to
rakista with her, chudor, pogz, renz, paco, rogi, and zac. chudor, renz, and i hit snags with our respective parents, while paco, pogz, and zac cancelled under mysterious circumstances. of course it wasn't a setup. how dare rogi even think that.
since i had nothing planned for today, i bought a ticket to the uaap game this afternoon. la salle won, but i didn't enjoy the game as much as i did last time. go figure. the only fascinating thing that happened was that the one time i ventured to boo the opposing team, the la salle crowd immediately followed suit. this only goes to show that lasallians have no maturity whatsoever. isn't it great? kimber put it this way: "
pansinin mo'ng tahimik tayo hanggang magcheer
ang ateneo,
tapos saka lang tayo iingay,
para lang mabara sila."
i have to admit that i found it embarrassingly funny when coach sandy put johan uichico in at the last minute. kimber called it "raising the white flag". i'm a bit more harsh - in rts terms, it's more than just an end mission; it's an exit to windows.
tired as i was after the game, i had promised my tutees that i'd meet them this week so off i went. it's a real pain in the ass, timewise, but extremely rewarding. come on, 500 pesos an hour to smile and nod at some dumb kid's eletist views? that's more than my mother's hourly rate. this is a clear example of the advantage of specializing in english as a second language - you can just hold a two-hour conversation and pass it off as real-time practice. although, yeah, i probably should correct their rich-kid delusions, but then i'd have to charge more.
i saw my sister reading through
this blog the other day. it's obviously contrived, but has an interesting enough premise.
