awit ng kabataanmy sister's blog has become friends-only. it seems that her school principal [whom she refers to as "rat bastard fagum" in her posts and comments] had stumbled upon it.
can a blog entry be considered evidence of defamation? or should the said principal realize that giving out sactions for choice examples of freedom of expression is abuse of authority?

sigaw ng liwanagpearl invited me to join her and the visual arts staffers on their pilgrimage to a.g. saño's photovandalism exhibit at the sm megamall. saño took snapshots of lightning bolts, and had them interpreted by local musicians and journalists in the form of vandalism, which is to say, a statement or two on the photo itself. musical collaborators included barbie almalbis, buddy zabala, buwi meneses [bassist of parokya ni edgar], cynthia alexander, dong abay [vocalist of pan and yano], noel cabangon, and lourd de veyra.
the host was, to my surprise, james deen, who had been our tour guide back when benilde was headhunting me. except that he now refers to himself as "ganns deen" and runs the website
perfect-proposals.com.
there were of course performances to support the show, namely by noel cabangon, coffee break island [i highly recommend this alternative reggae band, especially if you enjoy the music of indio eye and sublime], twisted halo, lyn sherman & isha, and lourd de veyra.
and what better to follow the visual and auditory teasers than free food and alcohol, to satisfy the other three senses? their champagne was served on the rocks; their red horse was not. i ended up drinking beer from a wine glass.
pearl caught sight of marlon despues, the photographer who served as mentor during last year's art and photo camp. for reference, he did that picture of the topless jericho rosales and piolo pascual for that eyewear company whose logo looks like a barcode. he was looking for male models for his next [nude] shoot. i politely declined; reggie, of course, did not.
the
wazzup wazzup crew interviewed a number of prominent guests, including lourd, buwi, and saño himself. if you happen to catch that episode, you'll see me walking past saño and|or standing menacingly behind lourd. it's no 15 minutes, but it'll do.
there are a multitude of dark,
forbidding reasons to give up.
it's the occassional surprise that keeps me going.
well said, buddy. i concur.
