limit break

i finally got my final fantasy vii cds back from maki. it took six hours, but i finally found a working no-cd crack, so i don't further damage the already much-scratched discs. as with any classic game, the graphics are terrible. i used to run it in quarter-screen because gameplay was choppy otherwise; ironic that i'm doing the same now but this time because i can't stand the 640x480 full-screen resolution.

also, thanks to my more-or-less steady income, i was able to upgrade my computer's speakers and videocard. i bought an altec 2.1 and pirated rogi's old radeon 9600xt. i just hope i don't get used to an extravagant lifestyle. i don't want to end up as one of the bankrupt yuppies i so frequently criticize.

and yet in contrast to this is the fact that i lost my cellphone yesterday. this year bodes ill for me, at least according to chinese tradition. or maybe it's just vipaka because i opted to commute instead of joining my parents in san antonio for ash wednesday mass.

i'll just inform you guys if and when i find a replacement.
