bad publicity
as i was enjoying a plate of possibly the best sisig this side of taft avenue*, i caught wind that ramon tulfo, of
isumbong mo kay tulfo infamy, was 'negotiating' a supposed feud between speedbyte's and microsmith, egi's two largest internet café chains. nothing came of it, of course, seeing as tulfo's show rarely arrives at any sort of resolution beyond presenting both sides of the argument.
the dispute was reportedly over a puddle of water that had leaked out from the second microsmith branch, and which, due to gravity, had parked itself in front of the next-door speedbyte's hq. naturally, people who had fallen victim to the water made their sentiments known to the speedbyte's staff, which prompted the owner [henceforth referred to as "
kalbo"] to pay microsmith a visit. according to my source, the employee he talked to seemed none too interested in taking responsibility for the problem.
furthermore, the microsmith representative, assuming that
kalbo, being a foreigner, was unfamiliar with a certain three words in the vernacular basically told him to fuck off, and promptly got smacked upside the head for it. long story short, the sissy dragged tulfo into the situation.
now, i must admit to being a tad biased towards speedbyte's - first off, they were in the business first, and second, they give better service in terms of hardware, price, and customer treatment. discounts are frequent as well, especially if the staffers know you by name. i perfectly well can't call for a microsmith boycott [lord knows i get dragged through their doors at least once a week], but this post does give me an opportunity to recommend one shop over the other.
see you at speedbyte's, then.

the best sisig, et. al.: i actually don't know the name of the eatery, since it has no visible signboards. it's at the upper-left-hand corner of the building sinister to gokongwei, facing taft avenue. leave a message if you feel like discussing what sets it apart. over sisig, of course.
