phenomenal cosmic powers
after two trips to pldt's bicutan branch, two overseas calls, a forged letter of consent, a month and a half of patience, and 350 pesos' worth of steel piping, we finally have dsl.
although i do appreciate that i am receiving the full 384 kbps bandwidth [compared to the 256 kbps* that regular pldt mydsl provides], i am still apprehensive about the fact that my account is now being handled by smart wifi. evidently, the local 'port' [whatever that is] is currently full and instead of building a new one, they just tranferred the pending applications to their wireless department.
the signal's strong so far, but still a bit shaky. dsl veterans assure me that it'll clear up within the next few days, though. the irony is that although i'll be spending more time online, i'll actually be less visible.
oh, i'll still be around; it's just that you might need a
different sort of buzz.

256 kbps: pldt's 999 package ceiling is in fact 33% lower than they advertised - you only get the full bandwidth if you live in an area with heavy competition from globelines.
caveat emptor.
