gender issues

our relsfor [religion four] class deals with social theology, and thus discussions regularly revolve around society's role in causing or alleviating culturally chronic dehumanization. today's had something to do with our [the philippines'] excessively dependent relationship with big brother america. certain trade policies, according to our professor, were being accepted even with the knowledge that they thinly veil certain long-term disadvantages. to illustrate how all-too-willingly our political predecessors shrugged off these [supposedly] obvious drawbacks, our professor commented on how they were being "welcomed with open legs".

now there's a thought.

it hardly falls to coincidence that we have a motherland, the inang bayan, while america has a fatherland, uncle sam. both avatars represent the agression level inherent to their peoples' culture, which is probably why americans refuse to compromise, and why filipinos think nothing of it.

as for the whoring out of our land and resources, let's just say that while i believe in the overall equality of man's stupidity, evil is nevertheless the bastard child of a sudden and unusual intelligence.
