yes, but why's the rum gone?
friday proved to be rather annoying, what with the cancelled jam session, cancelled interblock basketball game, and cancelled movie-watching. yesterday, on the other hand, was by turns slow then hectic - the dry run for the diocesan youth day was promising, although tiring and time-consuming. feb 1 should be a blast, just as long as i can back out of buying a black manlakbay t-shirt when i have two perfectly good black shirts already. oh, and next time, the drinks should be cooler than the food [my thirst would've been more quenched had i drunk the asado sauce that came with the siopao]. i got the feeling they weren't kidding when they mentioned that we were being catered by la funeraria paz.
i was able to escape by 630pm, but due to traffic, it was well after 8 before jonat and i were on our way to judie's debut. that was filling, to say the least, although another disappointment was not having the opportunity to catch up on old times with those members of lsyc still stuck in zobel, including the debutante herself. my next opportunity will most probably be the next retreat, sometime during the latter half of february. i've missed three already so i better show up this time.
jonat convinced me to accompany him to a party sponsored by his org held at the loft in rockwell. we were naturally too late so we ended up at one of his blockmates'. rissa ong was there, a pleasant surprise, although in retrospect i believe jonat already mentioned to me that they share the same course; somehow i failed to grasp what he was saying until last night.
jonat invited me to stay over, tempting me with their new sing-mike [after too much rum-coke, videoke was obviously the next port of call] so off we went, him and me and ryan, one of his orgmates. i lucked out and ended up with the highest score, a 97, although to be honest, ryan [who really should start singing professionally] was hands down the videoke king. too bad there were no opm songs. that would've really made my day. or morning, rather.
many thanks to jonat, who reminded me of how much fun two [or in our case, three] people can have barreling down edsa arguing about this or that triviality with some timeless song playing in the background.
